Great news!! Were Open For Business!! See the news page and the new photo page for some progress photos. The Central Maine Veterans Memorial Park is a ¾ acre park constructed on the Roderick Road in Winslow, Maine, to honor all Maine veterans, men and women, living or deceased who are serving now or have ever served their country in the Army, the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, the Merchant Marines, the National Guard and all reserve units of the above as well as the US Cadet Nurse Corps of World War II. A special honor is noted for Winslow's own Col. William "Bill" Mansfield of Winslow, who led his own men of Company "G" off to battle during World War II. We have completed the park layout plan . The park has a parking area for approximately 12 cars and as you enter from the parking area you can see eight flags: Old Glory on the highest pole in the center, six service flags (including the Merchant Marine), and a lone flag near the center of the park honoring our POW and MIA veterans. These flags greet you as you start to walk the 1/8 mile of inscribed 16" x 8" granite Pavers . There will be 48" granite Benches for you to rest upon as you look around and see how many offered so very much for you to enjoy today. You will also pass two grass covered floral plots bordered by the 24" x 12" Border Stones . In between these two grass floral plots is our honor plot where we have our main granite monument. Each of our 16 Maine counties is honored on one of the 16 corners of our quadrangles plots. Please help us to honor these veterans who offered, and sometimes gave, so very much to preserve this great land we call home today. All donations, of any amount, are most welcomed and in most cases are tax deductible as prescribed by law. Company "G" Memorial Charitable Trust is an organization
exempt from income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue
Code and a private operating foundation described under Section
4942(j)(3). You should check with your tax accountant or
tax lawyer to determine whether or not your gift is an income tax
deductible donation.)
But if there is a veteran out there with a legitimate reason that he or she cannot find the donation monies for a Paver, please contact us and our team will see what we can do to assist you. This information will be held private between you and us. It will, however, be a shared honor to have your name, once again, beside those you served with before. May our LORD bless everyone of you who has helped to make the Central Maine Veterans Memorial Park a dream that will soon honor so many that gave so much. Contact me if I can assist you in any way. We are also accepting any and all corporate donations. If any of you have an idea that we haven't used, please contact us for we are your family, your friends, your neighbors and we all feel a special bond----we are all Veterans. |
